Struggle In America - The March For Freedom

Brother-Michael’s innate character in seeking to achieve higher heights, led him to go on to receive his degree in Computer Science, and to no surprise, he immediately went on to teach a college semester; paying it forward by instilling in others what he’d learned. In the first couple of months of me meeting Brother-Michael, I quickly learn that he is always willing to share his knowledge with no hesitations. Always wanting more for others whom he includes in his circle.

While in the military, Brother-Michael took a “confidence course” that had a profound effect on his life… and if you know him personally, like I do, I’m confident you’d agree that that must have been some damn course–because his confidence level exists within the stratosphere!

A dee-jay by trade, Brother-Michael is the original D.J. Mike C. It was at a park jam – which turned out to be a battle that he and his crew won – that the legend of D.J. Mike C was born. Dee-jaying and the love of music still runs in his soul today!

But anyone who knows Brother-Michael, knows that photography is his calling card and has been for over 28+ years. In 2009, While attending an event, a model said to Brother-Michael: “I don’t want you taking my picture with that bleep-bleep camera.” Ut-oh… Now why did he do that? He obviously didn’t know the beast that he’d unleashed. I realized rather quickly in the six years that I’ve known Brother Michael that such choice words are crazy motivators for him! That model’s off-handed remark is what fueled Brother-Michael’s career in photography even further. That singular statement quadrupled his motivation and served to leverage Brother-Michael to the well-known photographer he is today across the tri-state and beyond. He is a self-learner in developing the plethora of gifts he was born with which has directly impacted most people to respect, even envy his level of skills…to this day.
