Raj Murkute is an independent filmmaker, cinematographer and editor based in India.Working across multiple departments ,he develops visually driven narratives grounded in psychological and thematic depth .His work often explores youth, perception and the unseen forces that shape human behaviour.Raj combines stylized cinematography with concept driven storytelling.PILLIN reflects his interest in films that question reality and encourage viewers to look beneath the surface.
PILLIN began with a simple question:
How much of what we experience is truly ours and how much is crafted for us?
While the story follows a boy slipping into an illusion after taking a pill, the film is ultimately a metaphor for the digital, social and political systems that design cycles of excitement, distraction and dependency.I wanted the visuals and sound to feel immersive and seductive at first, then gradually unsettling as reality fractures. As a director, I’m drawn to stories about perception and control.....how unseen mechanisms shape what we believe is real. With PILLIN,I wanted to explore those ideas through a compact psychological narrative that leaves viewers questioning the forces influencing their everyday lives.
