Mass Communication graduate along with a three year diploma in Film & Video Editing from Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film & TV Institute. Several years of experience as Assistant Director for feature films, documentaries and television commercials, before Pigments, her debut short film as Director.
I was always excited by the thought process of an artist as she or he goes about creating a piece of work. How the inner world of an artist reacts to society and the world outside is what fascinated me and drove the narrative of my debut short film – Pigments, the immortal shades.
As someone rightly said, art is the process of coming face to face with yourself. This journey of self-exploration is what keeps an artist alive and enables her or him to develop insightful thinking. I do believe that every time we paint, draw or get into any type of creative process, we are bound to confront ourselves. I took up this subject for my first short film as I too go through plenty of self-exploration. I wanted to highlight this inner world of artists and what they have to undergo. I hope audiences will relate to the abstract nature of execution of the film.
