PAPER PAIRS & TROMBONE
28 min.,| 2018 |HD
This minimalistic video shows German master trombonist Paul Hubweber taking inspiration for his improvisations from the filmmaker's PAPER PAIRS art installation of abstract works by 24 artists from Germany, The Netherlands and New York. Three artist cameras follow him and his soulful, strong play while he walks along the walls filled with art. The video montage intertwines the works with his contemporary music...
"A beautiful film shows the range of visual materials Ebba Jahn has been integrating and touring.
Paul Hubweber offers a sensitively-developed, responsive and clearly recorded trombone voice.
The film puts the kindness of communal soundscape & extended vision together really well.
I also enjoy a glimpse of our arts champion with camera on the case in Köln." Jeff Schlanger a.k.a. musicWitness, NYC

2019 Screenings of PAPER PAIRS & TROMBONE Expanded...
This video is looking for film festivals which like to show a 1/2 hour video depicting abstract art and creative improvised music as it happens.
The installation of original PAPER PAIRS and a set of live music after a video screening by the varied Paul Hubweber with another musician in a duo is what I especially would enjoy more of for PAPER PAIRS & TROMBONE ; The Freedom Music Festival for Improvised Music in Copenhagen made this possible and people loved it. Film festivals could have this "package" too...
Once invited I will at least bing a portfolio with original art from the video for people to look at it closely -
PP&T Video Expanded, my project for 2019.
