Director Biography - Dwane Perks

From the cinematic views of the Midlands in England, Dwane Perks is an Award Nominated British-Mauritian Writer/Director who found his passion for storytelling at the age of sixteen, when he started creating and crafting visual stories. Learning the mechanics and art of filmmaking he honed his passion for storytelling, and since those early days, he's Directed a handful of engaging short films and performance/narrative Award Nominated music videos with long term collaborators. As a writer, Dwane is currently in the ongoing process of developing several engaging and intimate feature projects for the small and big screen.

Director Statement

This is a short Proof of Concept film for a feature with the same title. The short is a taster of two scene which taken from the beginning of the feature to showcase the music and present our main characters in the story, and set the atmosphere of what the feature is about.

The intentions of the short are to present a contrasting character study on creative musicians with opposite self worth issues based incited by the fear of failure. This duality of self worth and the fear of failure is a relatable theme that develops in the feature.

A personal story about achievement, the next stage for this project is to make the feature a reality!
