Galapagos: Nature's Most Astonishing Experiment
We are transported into the astonishing biodiversity of the Galapagos Islands, an archipelago celebrated for its unique flora and fauna found nowhere else on Earth. Filippo embarks on a journey to answer some of the many questions surrounding what has been called “the most incredible experiment nature has ever conducted.” With the help of local guides and marine biologists, he explores the archipelago from its very core: traversing lava-carved tunnels, climbing volcanic peaks, and diving into the surrounding deep blue waters. It’s a natural wonderland, fascinating from every angle.
Since the 1960s, most of the Galapagos Islands have been protected as a National Park. They are home to an array of species that exist nowhere else in the world, including giant tortoises, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, and Darwin’s finches—the iconic symbols of the theory of natural selection.
The adventure continues beneath the waves, where Filippo has unforgettable encounters, swimming alongside sea lions and hammerhead sharks. Ocean currents like the Humboldt and Cromwell play a vital role in sustaining the extraordinary biodiversity of one of the planet's richest ecosystems.
Our goal is to shine a light on one of the Earth’s last untouched natural paradises, to underline the importance of its conservation, and to emphasize the urgency of preserving it for future generations.
