Director Biography - Alexander Donovan, Mark Anthony Aiello

Mark Anthony Aiello
Mark has always loved storytelling and cinema since he was a child. Whenever he wasn't in school, he was always drawing, making his own comic books and watching a ton of movies. He then went on to write his own screenplays in high school and then finally picked up a camera and started making short films in college.

Upon leaving film school, Mark had no interest in any career path that didn't involve cinematic storytelling. He then took it upon himself during the pandemic to freelance and create original, story-driven content for brands and individuals that live on the edge. He eventually partnered with Alex along the way, and now the two of them create their own films together under Resonance Films. Mark mainly loves telling stories centered around the renegades and unsung heroes of the world. His creative approach generally involves a documentary filming style that is shoot-from-the-hip and candid along with a pivotal, constant moving editing style.

Mark's roles at Resonance are primarily director, director of photography, and editor. Some of his favorite films are The Godfather, The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, Casino, Gladiator, and Inglourious Basterds. His favorite filmmakers are Martin Scorsese, Sergio Leone, Sam Mendes, Ridley Scott, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, and Todd Philips.

Alexander Donovan
A long and storied run from dancing, music, photography, performance and then building a successful creative agency, Alex has always had his hands in filmmaking in one way or another.

As a firm believer in the enduring power of persistency to solve any problem, Alex sees that every person is an artist at heart and each can continue to make amazing things.

With a strong partnership with Mark, they have cultivated an organization between them to direct, produce, and score the music for each of their pieces. And the collaboration between them has made their friendship and partnership stronger with work that really speaks to their audience.

Alex could probably talk to you for days and days on end about film, music and art, and there probably isn't a top 10 list anywhere to be found. Rather you will just see an enthusiasm for continuing to work and make great pieces that others can enjoy.
