Out-of-Place Artefact: Act 1

Aurora travels to a forest region in Brazil, and tracks down the Indigenous Leader. While doing so, she is constantly troubled by visions of Lucas, her past lover. In a flashback she also recollects being given an assassination mission by the Singleton, leader of a mysterious secret organization called Vanir.
Disturbed and unbalanced, she is caught by the Indigenous Leader's henchman and held as a captive.
There she learns that the Singleton hopes to replace human with virtual consumer versions of themselves and later get rid of humans altogether - immortalizing only the human elite in the “Victory of the Elite”, as he call it.
She witness a ayahuasca ritual performed by him and a his entourage. In the same flashback, she manages to escape during this process and poison the ayahuasca tea. The Indigenous Leader and henchmen die. Filled with remorse Aurora attends a viking reenactment camp with Vanir’s top brass - all dressed as vikings and bearing old weapons. She meets the Singleton and confronts him.

Director Biography - Bruno Decc

Born in 1985, studied Architecture and Urbanism in the University of Sao Paolo. Since 2007, he works as director, writer, producer and photographer in indie filmmaking and advertising through his production company, Decc Films. From 2011 to 2018, he worked closely with Maria Farinha Films producing, writing and directing documentaries, short films and television shows focused on social-environmental issues. In he 2018 he launched Escape Films in Belgium, establishing his international career.

Nascido em 1985, estudou Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade de São Paulo. Desde 2007 trabalha como diretor e roteirista em cinema independente através da produtora Filme Filmes (Decc Filmes Ltda.). De 2011 até 2018, atuou em conjunto com a Maria Farinha Filmes, produzindo, dirigindo e escrevendo documentários, curtas-metragens e programas de web de temática socioambiental. Em 2018 lançou a produtora Escape Filmes na Bélgica e estabeleceu sua carreira internacional.

Director Statement

I hoped to conduct this series in a way that's exciting and thought provoking. It addresses issues such as neocolonialism, self interest economy and excessive traditionalism, all wrapped in an appealing spy drama.
