Passionate about creating content that has a long lasting and influential impact on local communities, Oliver began his career studying MA Producing Film and Television at Bournemouth University and is on track to receive a distinction.
Beginning on the radio, presenting weekly football update shows on Nerve Media, he developed a passion for local non-league football. Following on from this, he produced regular football highlights and interviews with New Milton FC and Poole Town Ladies FC. In addition, he also produced and filmed match highlights for a sponsored charity football match at St Mary's in Southampton.
In addition to football, Oliver also produced a series of short commercial videos for local brewer Southbourne Ales as well as coordinating a small media team at this years SUBU's Summerball and was responsible for the release of numerous promotional videos, distributed online.
He also runs a YouTube channel which contains previous documentaries about a variety of topic such as raising the profile of Shell and Auger Drillers and raising awareness of the situation of Digley Reservoir amassing thousands of views.
"When I was 14, I edited and shot my first video which amassed nearly half a million views online and consisted of myself goalkeeper training in the back garden, from that point I just knew that this industry is something I want to journey into...
The story of Bournemouth Poppies came about after doing some research on local football within the area. To my surprise, my local club was Bournemouth Football Club which I had presumed to be the more famous AFC Bournemouth. I doubled checked this with numerous other people and they all believed that there was only one football club called Bournemouth.
I watched my first match at the Victoria Park Sports Ground, which is tucked away in the heart of Winton. With about 36 in attendance, it was clear that the club was on hard times and after talking to the clubs chairman about the early history and its involvement regarding football in the area, I just knew I had to make a film and tell others about what I have discovered".
