Our Childhood Street
Our Childhood Street" is a documentary that delves into the lives of young boys in Mjølnerparken, who are facing forced relocation due to the Danish government implementing ghetto legislation in 2018. Mjølnerparken, named after Thor's hammer, symbolizes the relentless force that always hits its mark and returns to the god's hand. In this documentary, it serves as a poignant symbol for the experiences of five young men who are forced out of their homes but deeply desire to return.
The documentary explores their emotions and memories of home, as well as the profound sense of betrayal they feel when they are pushed out without being given a voice. Through their narratives and experiences, we gain insight into voices often left unheard. It is their story, told by themselves, offering a unique perspective on Mjølnerparken rarely seen through their own eyes.

"Our Childhood Street" is not just a documentary; it's a journey into the hearts and lives of five remarkable young men facing the harsh realities of displacement and identity in Mjølnerparken. As the director of this project, I was deeply moved by their stories and compelled to bring their voices to the forefront.
Mjølnerparken, named after Thor's legendary hammer, serves as both a sanctuary and a battleground for these boys, encapsulating the strength of their community amidst the turmoil of government intervention. Through intimate interviews, we delve into their struggles, their hopes, and their unwavering resilience.
Beyond merely documenting their experiences, "Our Childhood Street" aims to spark conversations about the broader issues of urban development, social inequality, and the search for belonging. It's a testament to the human spirit's ability to endure, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges.
I am immensely proud of this documentary and the opportunity to shed light on these important stories. I hope that audiences will be moved, inspired, and ultimately spurred to action by the truths revealed in "Our Childhood Street."
