Our Beach, Our Forest

A non-camera animated documentary shot directly on film stock, which is a record of family ideas about the seaside space. The authors of the film - a married couple with a child - using the gifts of nature found during the walk, create an audiovisual collage of the direct, physical presence of elements of space along with its artistic presentation in a form combining the abstraction of images with the narration of the documentary sound layer.
Inspired by the American avant-garde, the animated film is an original, family work in which the collected elements of space are used to create an abstract animation that transforms children's images using plants or sand into a film work. This form of work is also an attempt to combine the direct presence of nature while bringing the authors closer not only to their work, but also to the places they talk about.

Director Biography - Dawid Jacek Dittrich, Mariusz Wirski

Dawid Jacek Dittrich - Currently a 7-year-old boy interested in cars, trains and blocks. From an early age he has been participating in his parents' film projects, also as a conscious co-creator. He feels best in the mountains and by the sea.

Mariusz Wirski - Director, cultural animator and film expert. A graduate of the University of Gdańsk (Polish Philology, Ph.D. studies in Philology) and the Wajda School (Dok Pro). Author of documentaries and animated films, many of which were presented and awarded at festivals in Poland and around the world. He makes his films completely independently, without support or producers (now also by choice).
