Minna Abalian is a mixed media designer and filmmaker based in Boston. Through an intuitively led creative process, her work focuses on color and texture to highlight beauty in the mundane.
Food is the lifeblood of the Armenian culture, and this film honors how that rings true within my own family. What began as a visual dictionary of meals and traditions turned into a heartfelt tribute to my grandfather after his passing during the middle of production.
The result is a raw representation of my journey navigating grief and how there is a quiet strength to simply gathering around a table with family to enjoy a good meal.
