Director Biography - Madeleine Jones

Madeleine Jones is a theater-maker and filmmaker who grew up in the aisles and on the stage of a university theater. She has a deep interest in representing women-based stories as well as exploring the divinity of storytelling. In her work, it is the creative community that comes first.
She holds a BA in Theater with a Musical Theater Focus, Dance Minor and certificate in Intermediate - Low German from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MA in Directing Film from MET Film School Berlin. When she isn't directing or performing, she is writing plays and novels, teaching young ones about theatre, hiking, lingering in a good cafe, working in a local art gallery, or attempting to teach herself guitar again.

Director Statement

In 'Orpheus,' I was challenged to not use any dialogue which I used to so love to cling to. This production helped me discover my love for silence and suspense in cinema. The sound mix was also something I very much enjoyed to create for this production.
