Ramses Tuzzio was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a director, editor, screenwriter, producer and actor. Graduated from the Design career in Animation and Cartoons in 2011 at the Instituto Nueva Escuela. He studied script with Paulo Soria in La Nave de los Sueños (2018) and has been part of the annual Audiovisual Production workshop at the Munro University Center (2018). Since 2010, he has directed, edited and produced short films of various genres. In 2022, he directs and produces his first feature film, entitled: Oregano: The Failure Family, a grotesque dramatic comedy.
There are two reasons why I was interested in filming this film. The first was to make my first feature film as a director, a pending subject and something that I have really wanted to do for years. The second was to tell an original and important story that challenges the viewer, that makes them sympathize with the characters, but the most important thing was that they feel that these people are real, that this could be happening in some house somewhere. And Argentine humor has that virtue of telling something very crudely to combine it with an uncomfortable laugh, where tragedy is present all the time, but at the same time it is released in a laugh that proposes reconsiderations of how we see reality.
From the narrative point of view, the film evokes “Waiting for the Carroza” a lot due to its theatrical and humorous tone. In addition, references were taken from movies that take place in the same room; where the characters live in the same space all the time. These characters lack privacy. When there is a dialogue between two of these, the rest of the characters can hear them and interrupt the conversation. Some examples that served as inspiration were: Carnage by Roman Polanski (2012), 12 Angry Men by Sidney Lumet (1957) and The Sunset Limited by Tommy Lee Jones (2011).
For the art and photography we wanted to present a dimly lit, messy, dirty and neglected environment, which gives the feeling that the passage of time has made it fall apart. Some references were: Delicatessen by Jean-Piere Jeunute and Marc Caro (1991) and El Bonaerense by Pablo Trapero (2002).
