Director Biography - David Kline

David Kline is a filmmaker and scriptwriter originally from north west England but now residing in London, UK. He has previously worked in script development with US actor and writer Laurence Fishburne. He has worked for several UK film agencies, including Scottish Screen and Northern Ireland Screen. He is a former radio journalist and worked as a Researcher and Assistant Producer with BBC Sport.

He arrived in script development via a fortuitous, personal link whereby he assisted US actor, director and producer Laurence Fishburne in the development of a screen adaptation of a well-known novella (Paulo Coelho's 'The Alchemist') for Warner Brothers. David has also worked as a script reader and reporter for several UK film agencies including Script Factory, Scottish Screen and Northern Ireland Screen.

He has written numerous short film scripts and produced several, including 'Game Over' a co-write with Director Adam Jenkins featuring Blake Harrison, Gemma Whelan and Naomi Battrick, official selection at LA Shorts International Film Festival 2018. David has also written several spec full-length, feature film scripts in a range of genres from horror to thriller to family drama.

Director Statement

'On the Edge' explores the thematic idea of hope out of despair. The film is quite dark but also has comic moments, rising jeopardy and a twist. It can be a cruel world but I like to think humanity and goodness will always prevail.
