Director Biography - Ignacio Loizeau

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I have always dreamed of becoming a filmmaker. After a year of studying at "Universidad del Cine" in Argentina, I felt I needed to aim for more, and so I moved to the film program at "Savannah College of Art and Design" in the United States, where I've been since 2019.

During my time at SCAD, I've focused on becoming a well-rounded director, gaining experience in every department of the filmmaking process. From directing and editing to working in the camera department, I've worked on more than 50 productions, including "Crooked Trees Gon Give Me Wings" (as a Gaffer), which premiered at the Tribecca Film Festival, and SCAD's first virtual production, "Unreal Commercial" (as a Director) shot at the XR stage which premiered at the SCAD TV Fest.

In December of 2022, I returned to my roots in Argentina, to film my senior thesis, a project that reflects my love for my culture and my commitment to creating meaningful stories that resonate with audiences worldwide.

Director Statement

As a storyteller at heart, my ultimate aspiration is to become a director who can craft compelling and resonant narratives that reach audiences on a global scale. Whether it's documentary, a short film, or a commercial, my driving ambition is to create human connections through visual language. "Nos falta uno" is a film that aims to utilize the themes of soccer and friendship to critically analyze and deconstruct the socio-political reality that is often accepted as normal in a particular country. By leveraging the power of storytelling and the universal language of soccer, the film delves into the underlying social and political dynamics that shape the lives of its characters and the broader society.
