Director Statement

When I sat down to write this film as my senior thesis project, it seemed almost unimaginable that I was coming to the end of my formal education. To be a student has been a key component of my identity, my life, my daily routine, for as long I can remember, and I knew I needed to channel that into the film. On both a personal and artistic level, I felt like a mosaic of influence from every teacher I've ever admired. Looking at the future ahead of me, and the future of the world that faces my generation, it's hard to know which lessons we'll maintain from our teachers and which we'll ignore. This film is born out of discomfort and uncertainty, but also out of hope for every new adult inheriting the world and our lives yet to come.
