Øivind Klungseth Zahlsen is a Norwegian filmmaker and composer who has been living and working in Indonesia, both as a university lecturer and as a filmmaker for the media company Arwuda. In 2013 he teamed up with Jimmy Hendrickx and Kristian van der Heyden for their prize-winning film “A Punk Daydream,” where he contributed as a steady-cam operator. In addition to camera work, Øivind was responsible for the musical score for their last film, “The Making of Memories for the Future.” Presently Øivind collaborates with the Javanese singer Peni Candra Rini, perhaps best known for her musical contributions to Garin Nughro films. This project is a continuation of a requiem Øivind dedicated to his deceased parents in his early 20s, which later was recorded with orchestra and soloists in Manhattan by the label Trip Records. For the time being, Øivind is completing his Ph.D. at the NTNU university.
