El autodestructivo Manu persigue una muerte adelantada, trágica y gloriosa… Ante fantasmas, secretos y engaños, ¿hoy la alcanzará?

¿Son condenas ya escritas el destino y la suerte de Argentina y de Manu? O, cómo un goleador frente al arco, ¿tendrá alguna otra oportunidad?

Director Biography - Emiliano Gioffré

Emiliano Gioffré, born on 8•8•88 & raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Class of ‘07 at Miami Beach Senior High, Emiliano was part of the Gifted Program and took AP (Advanced Placement) classes.
He helped establish the Annual Film Festival and the school’s Film Club, which he won and presided, respectively.
In FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) he won District 1st Place and State 2nd Place for Digital Video Production, earning a prestigious spot to compete in the National Leadership Conference.

Gioffré is an experienced Producer whose professional TV career now surpasses the 20-year-mark. With a globally massive audience at GOLTV, he was responsible for countless live broadcasts of soccer games, including historic, prestigious and classic matches such as Barcelona-Real Madrid, Bayern Munich-Borussia Dortmund, Porto-Benfica, River Plate-Boca Juniors, just to name a few.
Gioffré initiated and produced the popular weekly show “TuFutbolBrasil” for over six years.
His TV production experience doesn’t stop with GOLTV and includes two other Hispanic and global powerhouses: ¡HOLA!TV & CNN en Español (Working on Oppenheimer’s Show).

A devoted student of film, he loves films d’auteur. He distinguishes 5 filmmakers as his ultimate Maestros: Kubrick, Scorsese, Godard, Almodóvar & Iñárritu.

Emi studied at the SEDT (School of Entertainment & Design Technology) of Miami-Dade College, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Film, TV & Digital Production, with Honors.

Emi Gioffré wrote, produced and directed OFFSIDE - an experiential day-in-the-life Argentinean short film starring the wildly magnificent Luciano Cortés.

Fe en el Presente. Sí. Fe.
A pesar del bueno o malo Pasado. Fe.
A pesar del desconocido Futuro. Fe.

Al fin de su odisea, en El Señor de los Anillos, Frodo Baggins pierde por completo su esencia de amor. El odio, la oscuridad y el mal lo consumen de la manera más cruel…
Frodo puede lanzar El Anillo al fuego de Mordor y salvar al mundo entero…
Pero Frodo gira hacia Sam y declara: “El Anillo es mío”.
Tolkien siguió escribiendo y Frodo, con un guiño de suerte del Destino, cumplió su misión.

Fe. Había que tenerla. Fe. En ese breve pero oscuro Presente de Frodo. Fe.

En este, nuestro mundo, extrañamos el Pasado y anhelamos el Futuro…
En OFFSIDE, Manu es el Presente.

Un beat intenso e incesante.
Un alma refugiada en lo prohibido.
Manu es el Presente. Fe.
¿El pasado? Olvidado. ¡No lo nombres!
¿El futuro? Impensado. ¡No lo esperes!
Manu es el Presente. Fe.

Offside, mi carta de amor a la Argentina, encapsula un Presente fugaz en el cual mi país fue feliz.

2014 (8 años antes de Qatar 2022) y Argentina soñaba con ser Campeón del Mundo (¡En suelo brasileño!)

…La ilusión se frustraría…

Alejandro Sabella (QEPD) dirigía a esa Selección Argentina y contaba con el mejor jugador del mundo, Lio Messi.
Era un equipo que al marcar un gol liquidaba al rival… La Final estaba 0-0 y el delantero argentino Gonzalo Higuaín marcaba El Gol… Un 1-0 que se celebró solo por instantes… Sería correctamente anulado por posición adelantada - Offside.

Yo grité el gol y abracé a mi mejor amigo y fui feliz. Toda Argentina, durante esos segundos, fue feliz.

Al desilusionarme con la realidad, pensé, “Si hubiese muerto recién, creyendo que éramos los campeones, hubiese muerto feliz.”

Y ese Presente, que se fugó, creó nuestra historia contada aquí.

Nuestro protagonista Manu es eso:
Una utopía que parece inalcanzable: Un Presente Argentino Feliz.

OFFSIDE tal vez enseña eso:
¡Abrazá al Presente! ¡Amalo!
Sea un paraíso o un infierno…
O algo en el medio de esos dos…
¡Abrazá al Presente! ¡Amalo!
Así cómo Manu, es fugaz e irrepetible.
