Director Biography - Baky DIA, Franck A.R ONOUVIET

Baky DIA is a French film director, screenwriter, and producer. He made his debut with the sci-fi short films YURI (2022) and OPHIO (2024).

Born and raised in the small village of Saint-Mard, France, to Malian parents, Baky developed a keen interest in science, biology, and literature from an early age, particularly in anticipation and science fiction genres. He pursued a Master's degree in Paris, becoming a computer engineer.

In 2022, Baky produced and directed his first science fiction project, YURI, and is currently working on his second project, OPHIO.

Hello, I'm Baky, a French director, computer engineer, and passionate film enthusiast.

What captivates me in cinema is the fusion of concept, narrative, and character development. My directorial journey began with a sci-fi project titled YURI.

I am driven by the belief in the power of change and aspire to contribute meaningfully to this evolution.
