Director Statement

Movies were always very cathartic to me during my unorthodox upbringing. I love two kinds of films: those based on true events and those that leave a lasting impact on people. When I learned about Oksana and decided to make this film, I knew that it could be both. Her's was an unsung story that deserved to be told. This film is meant to address the crisis of violence towards women as well as victim shaming while shedding light on Oksana's story.
