Director Statement

Oh Archie explores the conflict that arises when one is forced to choose between professional advancement and interpersonal relationships. It focuses primarily on the grief that follows when making one choice over the other and how the “what ifs” serve as a ghost that haunt the people that make these choices. It is a story about doubt and regret but also of forgiveness and perseverance.

I specifically chose two amateur actors as I wanted to use their unease in front of the camera to mirror that of the two characters. Scenes need to be awkward, stilted and choppy. The re-connection after a long period of time away is never smooth.
