Director Statement

As Co-Director and writer of this film, my goal was to create a story that explores the complex and often turbulent emotions of the human experience towards important species like the Rhinos. Through the eyes of our ensemble cast, the audience is taken on a journey of self-discovery and pride of how humans can be bonded with wild animals.

My intention was to craft a narrative that feels authentic and relatable, an untold story from Africa by Africans and drawing from my own personal experiences through working with Zimbabwe National Parks. By delving into the nuanced inner worlds of the characters, I hope to evoke a sense of empathy and connection within the viewer.

Visually, I worked closely with my cinematographers to develop a style that complements the film's pensive and introspective tone with an earthy color palette that aimed to immerse the audience in the emotional landscape of the story.

Ultimately, this film is a labor of love - a sincere attempt to capture the joys, sorrows, and complexities of the human condition. My hope is that it will resonate with festival audiences and inspire thoughtful discussions around the universal experiences that unite us all.
