Director Biography - Dennis Routledge-Tizzard

I was born in London, raised in Norwich and have lived in Spain (first in Pontevedra, now Barcelona) for close to a decade. I caught the film bug early and started out making short films with my school friends on a MiniDV camera from the age of 16.
After graduating from Sussex university with a degree in Film Studies I put my filmmaking dreams on hold for some time (life, as it has a habit of doing, got in the way) until 2019, when I started work as a freelance videographer in Pontevedra.
I moved to Barcelona to search for likeminded people who wanted to make both commercial work and creative films and soon found Barcelona Filmmakers Club. There, I took part (in various roles) in short films, comedy web series and more and finally got to kick-start my first proper short film; Now or There.
I'm far more interested in the emotional truth and subjective facts of a story, rather than the logical, 'realistic', beats of a narrative.
