Nothing
A young man, struggling with loneliness and lung cancer, tries to make his life seem normal and act like everyone else. In the middle of a street fight in the neighborhood, his eyes catch the girl next door watching curiously from a rooftop. That brief glance becomes the brightest point in his life. He builds a simple yet beautiful gazebo on his own rooftop, nurturing the hope of seeing her again—turning every street fight into an excuse to wait for another look. In his imagination, those fleeting encounters transform into secret dates; a love that may exist only in his mind and heart, yet holds the meaning of an entire life for him.

Amir Niakam (27) grew up with painting and later earned a degree in architecture, beginning his professional career in building design. His passion for creativity led him into off-road car design and tuning, but years of isolation and depression turned his focus inward, inspiring the creation of imaginary portraits—works that gradually drew him toward cinema. After completing directing and acting courses and making several short experimental films, he is now working on his first independent feature, an absurdist and poetic narrative shaped by his lived experience of confronting emptiness and solitude.
Perhaps the life we are caught up in is only a single second of an endless time in another world.
Perhaps the concern that has occupied our whole life, on a larger scale, would appear tedious and meaningless — something not even worth thinking about.
Perhaps if we look at ourselves from above and see what values we fight and strive for, everything will seem pointless.
Perhaps love, and the struggle to win and hold on to love, in another perspective is nothing but emptiness.
But what about now?
Now this very love, these very concerns and these very struggles have made up our whole world, and all our efforts are for them —
however small and insignificant, they are our entire world.
