Director Statement

I Co-directed this film Not Just Porn as a response to the intense homophobia and anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric currently being expressed in my current home Florida, and in the United States as a whole. As a straight black male, making this film allowed me to live closer to my values and support those in communities that need love and support. My co-director and I wanted to show how important Wakefield Poole is not just because of his contribution to Florida, but to filmmaking and inclusivity.
