I was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, to Iranian parents who early on introduced me to the world of film.
Having grown up with many hours in front of both the TV and the silver screen, it's no wonder that my passion and dream has always been to be able to tell stories in this way to inspire people like I once was inspired myself. Film has been a way for me to process emotions, keep myself informed and understand other human beings - and these are the key elements as to why I myself want to create films for the rest of the world to see.
Sprung out of three TV students' desire for more Swedish horror, The Mare started as a TV pilot featuring 4 segments representing one Nordic country each. I wrote all 4 segments - The Mare being one of them, and also the one that I planned to turn into a short film.
With The Mare, I want to tell the story of a troubled soul and how the darkness within can consume us - all encapsulated in a tense horror atmosphere.
