Director Biography - Dzauqy Ilham

Dzauqy F. Ilham is a young Indonesian filmmaker who
currently active in directing and writing screenplays. Born in Metro in 1996.
He is an alumnus of VIU SHORTS! Season 2 2020, film making workshop organized by VIU Indonesia. VIU SHORT! he wrote the screenplay for one of G-Rain's short films. His short films have competed and screened at several festivals, such as Indiskop Film Festival 2020, Movimax FIlm Festival 2020 and Open Air Cinema JAFF 2022.

Sinyal Nol Biji Nol (No Signal No Score) is a short film that won third place at the Indiskop film festival 2020 and was nominated for the Audience Choice Viddsee Juree Awards Indonesia 2021.His latest film, Oskab Geger Geden (Chaotic Of The Oskab), won the best film category at the 2022 Lake Toba Film Festival.
Currently he is an intern development writer at a feature film production house in Indonesia.

Director Statement

In Indonesia, one of the sectors most directly affected by the COVID-19 virus outbreak is the education sector. The next appeal from the Indonesian government is that the learning and teaching system will be carried out online at their homes. The action taken by the government is actually the right. However, one thing that becomes an obstacle from the results of the decision is the distribution of internet infrastructure and the stability of internet speed in Indonesia which is not yet good.
The impact is that many complaints from the Indonesian people, especially teachers and students in Indonesia, online learning has not been effective enough to be implemented in every region in Indonesia, especially in remote areas. Previously, these kinds of complaints had often been expressed by the Indonesian people several years before the pandemic. In 2014, the Minister of Communication and Informatics, Tifatul Sembiring, started a comment with a question via Twitter on social media which was “Tweeps Good People, what do you want to use if the Internet is fast?” This statement was widely criticized by the public at that time. for the basic society of this saying will give birth to a "time bomb" in the future,
This film seeks to bring aspirations and challenge the welfare of the Indonesian people in the distribution of the internet and its connections. Why is it important to sue? Considering that in this all-digital era, internet connection is a new gamble to ensure the progress of a country. Bringing a comedic approach to the content of the short film "Sinyal Nol Biji Nol" also aims to provide entertainment and hope that in the future can reduce the fatigue of the Indonesian people about the pandemic, become a reflection in the future on the issue of equitable distribution of internet connections in Indonesia, and as a trigger for people to come to terms with the bad moments that occurred during the pandemic. The situation of independence that was chosen to indicate the meaning of independence in laughing, laughing at independence, on independence day.
