Experiencing Interruptions?

No Kissing

No Kissing is a queer short, and our production team was entirely queer, nonbinary, and trans.

Logline: Two women reckon with the cusp of a new pandemic and what it means to do right by someone they never planned for.

Synopsis: Two women meet in London to continue a situationship that's lasted longer than either of them expected. Anya is an anxious, ambitious New Yorker. Olivia is an impulsive Londoner accustomed to dealing with the consequences of her decisions with charm and little else. When Anya develops symptoms, they both must reckon with the cusp of a new pandemic and what it means to do right by someone they never planned for.

Director Statement

So often formative queer experiences are transient. It's easy to feel like heartbreak or obsession or lust isn't valid if the person causing it was only in your life for a matter of weeks. But its these moments and feelings that affirm and shape our sexualities, turning us into people who eventually find something that sticks and nurtures us. With 'No Kissing,' I aimed to capture the sort of involvement that takes over your life but defies description due to its brevity or ambiguity. We all have exes who were never really ours to begin with.
