Night Riders

Night Riders is a short documentary about Ebonie Finley’s vision to create an entire snowboard movie shot in the backcountry at night that would still look visually stunning !! A concept that has never been successfully done in Quebec before. To make this dream a reality, Ebonie teamed up with Jean-Phillipe Langevin, a visual director at Moment Factory, one of the biggest multimedia companies in the world, who quickly became her best asset to create a movie in complete darkness. JP brought his unique ability to create incredible lighting effects in the backcountry and make Ebonie’s vision come to life. Their team was then joined by pro-riders : Magalie Dubois, Jeremy Cloutier, and Lucas Lépine, all looking for adventure, some fresh powder, and to be part of something different. The last person to be added to the group is Steve Dubois, the first powsurf creator in Quebec, who just wanted in on the fun. Because of the storytelling, this is a short movie that speaks to the masses and not just to snowboard geeks and professionals. As an ethnic minority, Ebonie also wanted to create a movie that would be more inclusive and represent different types of people, such as non-pros, her as a BIPOC in the snowboard industry, women, and pow-surfing. This is the story of six strangers from various backgrounds and levels who came together to share their love of the sport, have fun, and carve their own path during the crazy adventure that was making Night Riders.
