Director Biography - Stanislav Kacar

Stanislav Kacar is a filmmaker, writer, and actor born in Belgrade, Serbia. Having performed in a number of stage plays from 2013-2014, Kacar went on to pursue writing and filmmaking, directing his first independent feature film in 2015 before going on to study at RMIT in 2019 while continuing to produce short screenplays.

Kacar now writes and directs his own short films: 'Unmade', his debut short film produced at RMIT premiered on Vimeo on June 20, 2021, winning 'Best Student Film' at the 2022 New York City IO Festival, with his following project Leaving Lily Lane (2022) premiering at Palace Cinema Como in September 2022 and later being selected for 'Best Screenplay' at the Star International Film Festival in Florence, Italy.

Kacar's latest project, 'Night Passage' (2024) recently won 'Best Indie Film' at the Monthly Future of Film Awards in Macedonia, and 'Best Horror Short' at the Gold Star Movie Awards in Newark, USA.
