Longline:
A taxi driver struggling to support her children in Dublin city begins extorting one of her passengers when she witnesses them being unfaithful in her taxi.
Synopsis:
Ngozi, a first-generation African immigrant, drives a late-night taxi through the unforgiving streets of Dublin—where economic disparity, violence, and loneliness define her world. A single mother, she fights to keep her children safe after losing their home, too proud to admit she’s drowning. The only witness to her struggles is the ever-rolling dash cam on her windshield.
One night, fate hands Ngozi a weapon—a recording of Eve, a glamorous Irish model, caught in an affair. As Ngozi’s desperation deepens, she fixates on Eve’s seemingly perfect life, seeing in her a symbol of everything she’s been denied. When her children’s safety is threatened, Ngozi makes a chilling choice: she blackmails Eve. But in a tense, emotional confrontation, she comes face to face with the humanity she thought she’d lost.
With a new home secured for her children, Ngozi finally allows herself to feel the weight of her choices. As she sits alone in her taxi, she holds the dash cam in her hands. The question lingers—does she erase the footage, or has she crossed a line she can’t come back from?
