More passionate in person than online.
Nicolas Diaz is a passionate screenwriter based in Long Beach whose work delves into the complexities of the human condition across a wide range of genres, including sports drama, supernatural horror, and grounded character studies. With a strong focus on short scripts, his writing has earned recognition from respected competitions such as the HollyShorts Screenwriting Competition, Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition, and Big Apple Film Festival, including a 3rd place win for Best Short at the 2020 Golden Script Competition. Nicolas is currently submitting his first feature-length screenplay—a character-driven sibling drama set against the high-stakes world of Formula 1 racing. He brings a cinematic eye to his storytelling, shaped in part by his love of photography and visual storytelling. Outside of writing, Nicolas is a dedicated father who finds inspiration in everyday moments and strives to craft emotionally resonant stories that connect with audiences on a personal level.
