Street Beat
This is a rockumentary short film from Matilda Mother band´s second visit to New York. During visit in July 2023 they created a new music album called A Closer View. The trip had a loose mission: to get a feel of New York mostly by walking around, then to transfer those feelings into words and music.
Pim & Pom on a search for a recording contract, wandering round the streets of New York, writing songs, playing stylophone and tambourine. Taking in the vibe and rhythm of the city. Going to Electric lady studios, talking to reception. Digging the groovy way of pacing the words. Connecting to the cosmic drone, riding round in the subway, sweating in the summer heat, bouncing echoes of skyscrapers, getting wet in a thunder storm, wearing out shoes. Just to get their mission complete:
gotta be changes made
to let system know
pure sound and vision
bouncing round, colliding
all with a reason.
Orginal songs for music album(for bandcamp) are all recorded at Cozy Comfort in Brooklyn, 208 East 93rd Street Brooklyn, United States of America NY 11212 and some of them in streets of New York.

Come and meet Ninel Smaragda. She believes that the rhythm is king. She loves creative, groovy, elastic and free drumming continuing the polyrhythmic chase and traditions al la Ed Blackwell, Shannon Jackson etc. At the same time keeping it in the pocket. Besides she loves exotic singing and her voice has really personal sound and tuning.
