New-Zealand : Land of the New World
New-Zealand lies up there amongst the most beautiful “postcard” countries in the world. 85 Million years ago when the continents divided, New-Zealand rapidly detached itself from the mainland. The animals it housed developed into a predator-free environment. When man conquered the islands, he brought with him predators and endemic species like birds became easy prey. Protecting indigenous nature has therefore become a priority for New Zealanders.
