Chraci Vianne Bene has been a part of the Seattle film community since the early 2000's, where she learned film production while volunteering in the art department on local indie shoots. "Nevermind the Knife" is her directorial debut. Being an avid music-lover, she was thrilled to recruit local bands and musicians for the project. She is really proud of the eclectic soundtrack and titled the film with a nod to Seattle music history.
The making of "Nevermind the Knife" was as much about inclusion as storytelling. When choosing the cast and crew, we sought out people who had been marginalized both within the film industry and society. Thus, our team was made up of over 70% individuals from the following groups: Women, persons of color, over 50, LGBTQIA2+, homeless, military veterans, neurodivergent, physically challenged and/or medically fragile. "Nevermind the Knife" was written, directed, produced and edited by female filmmakers.
