Nevermind
Trina returns to Kolkata from Leicester to find someone she lost decades ago. Over one day, her search takes her across the city, following leads through its crowded streets and quiet corners.
Elsewhere, Jude, a street-smart Anglo-Indian, makes a shady deal in the alleys of New Market; in North Kolkata, two brothers quarrel over selling their crumbling ancestral home; and a group of weary IT professionals try to drink away the collapse of a corporate merger.
Their worlds converge at Nevermind, a Park Street bar glowing under neon lights, where Jude plays Bengali rock songs with his band. A flirtatious spark between Trina and Jude deepens into something far more personal—until trouble from Jude’s shady connections finds him. At a moment of vulnerability both are encountered by a truth from their past that shakes their world.
As midnight approaches, all face a choice: reconcile in the chaos or lose each other.

When I had first read the story for this film, I had immediately felt the pain and burden of our lead character Trina, as a woman. I wanted to project the void she carries inside her onto the neon lit lane of Park Street.
In our film, over the course of one day, different lives come in proximity to each other and then diverge away again, everyone returning to their own seemingly unchanged realities. Inside themselves however, everything has changed. I think there is something lyrical and bittersweet about that, much like real life...
