Neither Totem Nor Taboo (Post Production)
A teenager has a trippy mushroom session. His mother sends him to live with his father, who is struggling to build a relationship with a decent, yet conventional man. The son, and his non-binary and trans friends, bring to the father an opportunity to question the rules he abides by, igniting the fundamental conflict between desire and prohibition.

We knew that the subversion of the orthodox family roles would be uncomfortable for the audience, so we decided to take an unorthodox approach: we used Smartphones and we edited with the careless technique of home made family videos. The light is not right and there is too much music, half way between YouTube and Tiktok. It is not professional, because the matter we dealt with was so urgent that it could not be staged. We rented a classical family house where the whole crew moved for three days, sharing meals, bathroom, and a fair amount of tension. The borders between reality and fiction were blurred. That fear that the world as we knew it was on the brink of disappearing was a disturbing yet exhilarating experience that we did not conceal, contrary to what "good" families do.
