Neeraja
Neeraja and Alex, who work together in the IT field, fall in love and are about to get married, they are abandoned by both their families.However they start to cherish their life in a flat with deep love . But Alex dies in an accident. Neeraja left alone by the unbearable trauma, she tries to overcomes the agony in many ways such as hanging his photos and clothes, as if they were changed yesterday,and the shoe rack occupies his used shoes, his favourite books on the table, and the ashtray. The 20 or so wind chimes they bought together have the date of purchase written on the bottom. As the wind blows it plays music, she slips into those old memories. It is now her routine to buy flowers to decorate his photo which commemorate his death. She left her windows been open for two years. She sleep and wake up with the memory of him. She even scolds the servant Chitra who tries to remind her the sad reality. She confronts her boss with strong language, who tries to get close to his adultery as she is a widow. She completely ignores her surrounding men especially those who approach her with desire. Her parents meet her out and advice her to move on.They try to remind her that she is been the part of joint family,living in city as single can spoil their entire family status,they become rude to convince her to marry again .But for her, Alex still been a part of her. There is no place in Neeraja's mind for anyone else.Though her mind has no needs, her body desires gives her hardships ,which is easily recognised by her friend Anjali, reminds her that she is going into depression, and takes her to a psychiatrist.
Neeraja's body demands sex, but the doctor realises that breaking her promise to her dead husband would be a betrayal of trust and she will not back down quickly. The doctor advice her that physical needs are natural, and the suppression of those needs would be the major cause of depression among women in the society. When she tries to have sex with Anumohan, a young man she met through a dating app, it fails. He goes back saying that it can't be done with strict conditions and that those feelings cannot come out of a vacuum. It may seem like a failure but the doctor advises her that Neerja is going in the right direction, and he is not right for her and she need someone who is more companionable and she should try to find that special person. Neeraja befriend with Arun, a civil engineer. Arun was not satisfied with his country wife Merra, who was always bothering him with gossips. Finds Neeraja as a relief to Arun who had wished to marry a modern girl. In later days, Arun keeps his wife even more distant. Innocent, she cries and confesses to the servant Chitra. When Meera say that nothing is right, Chitra narrates the life story of Neeraja and Alex. Meera's mind changed by hearing Neeraja's life, who continues to love even after death. Meera also starts hanging photos and wind chimes. She finds satisfaction in that. Everything becomes annoying for Arun. He gets closer to Neeraja. They are often seen in the park and beach. Disguising Arun's thoughts of falling in love with her, Neeraja honestly conveys her demand that she need sex. However, he bursts out. Later Arun understands Neeraja and apologized to her. They decide to get along.
One day, Alex's father arrives at the flat to meet Neeraja. Seeing Alex still clinging to her , he says that ,his son is not dead and he can't be separated from her; who loves him so much. She falls back into Alex's memories, which slowly begin to fade. When she tries to have sex with Arun, she she fails. She realises that none of this would happen without love. She is freed from her past and turns to reality. Also, recognised that in life,love is important than physical needs.
