Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Blithedale Romance
Hawthorne's "The Blithedale Romance" is the story of a man driven by his sexual obsessions while he attempts to create a perfect communal society. The novel is likely the first realistic portrayal of a deeply sexually disturbed mind, told by one of America's greatest authors; the book inspired Sigmund Freud in creating the field of psychology. "The Blithedale Romance," Hawthorne's third great novel, is an intimate look into the lives of America's literary giants through the eyes of Miles Coverdale (a stand-in for the writer himself). Made with the advice and support of the Hawthorne Society. Harvard, Yale, Duke, USC, and other university professors guided the film. Completed 9/15/25

Veteran Director, best known for Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies and Wieland. A former newspaper editor and reporter, he won a PA Newspaper Association award for his coverage of the infamous "Election Day Massacre". His writings eventually helped free three men wrongly accused and convicted of murder.
We poured our soul into making an accurate rendition of Hawthorne's classic. The universal themes of love, betrayal, and desire were woven into this complex tale. With the help of the Hawthorne Society, we produced an amazing retelling of the 19th century's most famous unadaptable novel.
Like Hawthorne's writings, there are no easy answers. Reality is a complex mixture of dreams, reality and desires. Be bold, choose a film that has something to say, that demands of the watcher something more than occasionally looking up from their phone
