Bases 10º #NarrarelFuturo: Festival de Cine & Nuevos Medios
(Bogotá, 5 al 10 de septiembre de 2023)
1. INTRODUCCIÓN
La programación de #NarrarElFuturo navega cada año en un relato programático que pretende generar un diálogo constante entre los relatos cinematográficos tradicionales y las más actuales tendencias que experimentan desde la tecnología, lo digital, lo inmersivo y lo interactivo.
En esta nueva edición, fieles a los cambios evidentes e inevitables que trajo la pandemia, potenciaremos reingeniería aplicada a nuestro concepto de programación y de curaduría durante la versión de 2022 y mantenemos el fortalecimiento y proyección de la programación cinematográfica como el hecho previamente con la programación de nuevos medios.
Con esto en mente y con el concepto de “EL FUTURO” como base estructural de nuestro relato curatorial este año mantenemos y potenciamos nuestras dos secciones principales: #RelatosDelFuturo y #ElFuturoEsAhora
2. SECCIONES
Sección #RelatosDelFuturo
Sección con foco en proyectos cinematográficos (Cortos y Largos), buscamos películas que hablen y se conecten con el futuro de muchas maneras; queremos, por supuesto, películas de fantasía, futurismos y ciencia ficción, las más evidentes, pero también queremos ver otras muchas miradas del futuro desde los más variados formatos, géneros, temas y narrativas. Las películas participantes deben hablar del futuro, de las muchas posibilidades que vienen en esta nueva era, de todos aquellos universos posibles que se abrieron con el cuasi fin del mundo que vivimos globalmente en los últimos años.

Sección #ElFuturoEsAhora":
Sección con foco en proyectos de nuevos medios y narrativas digitales. En esta sección participan proyectos que usan tecnologías, tendencias o formatos alrededor del concepto "Nuevos Medios": Documentales digitales, Webseries, Narrativas Transmedia, Experiencias Inmersivas (VR/AR/MR), Podcast, cine vertical y proyectos colectivos (Crowdfunding/Crowdsourcing).

3. ESQUEMA DE PARTICIPACIÓN
- Los proyectos de ambas categorías se podrán enviar a través de las dos plataformas oficiales: Festhome y FilmFreeway. Material y contenidos recibidos vía email u otras plataformas no será tenido en cuenta en la evaluación de jurados.
- En ambas secciones se reciben contenidos en formato imagen real, animación o híbrido y están abiertas a cualquier género y duración siempre que cumplan con el concepto delimitado en el concepto curatorial del festival.
- Las copias a solicitar a cada obra seleccionada para el festival deben contar con una resolución mínima de formato Full HD para obras cinematográficas o de contenidos audiovisuales tradicionales (2D) y un mínimo de 4K para obras VR, Video 360 u otros formatos inmersivos.
- Los productores o dueños de los derechos de exhibición de las obras inscritas y seleccionadas aceptan y confirman su participación en la 10ma versión de #NarrarElFuturo y festivales afines sin el cobro de pago de derechos de exhibición.
- Las películas y proyectos de nuevos medios que se presentan a esta edición no podrán haber sido estrenadas antes del 1 de enero de 2021.
- Todos los participantes seleccionados cuya obra esté en un idioma distinto al español deberán proveer una copia de su proyecto con subtítulos o doblaje al idioma español. Los gastos de dicha subtitulación o doblaje corren por cuenta de cada creador.
- Los productores de las obras seleccionadas se comprometen a firmar los formatos de cesión de derechos de exhibición y a facilitar los diversos materiales de prensa y comunicación tales como afiche, tráiler, ficha técnica, press kit, stills del proyecto, entre otros.
- Los participantes de países de Iberoamérica seleccionados aceptan que la información general de su obra seleccionada y materiales sean incluidos en la Base de datos iberoamericana de proyectos de cine y nuevos medios que gestiona #NarrarElFuturo.
4. CRONOGRAMA
- Apertura inscripciones: 26 de abril de 2023
- Cierre inscripciones primera etapa: 4 de Junio de 2023

- Publicación de selección oficial: 4 de agosto de 2023

5. COSTOS DE INSCRIPCIÓN AL FESTIVAL
5.1. Sección #RelatosDelFuturo (Largos y cortometrajes cinematográficos)
En la primera etapa la inscripción es gratuita. En la segunda etapa las películas pagaran un fee de 5 USD, este fee será pagado en la plataforma escogida para presentar su película con las condiciones que cada plataforma delimita.
5.2. Sección #ElFuturoEsAhora (Proyectos de Nuevos Medios)
En la primera etapa la inscripción es gratuita. En la segunda etapa los proyectos de nuevos medios sin importar su formato pagaran un fee de 5 USD, este fee será pagado en la plataforma escogida para presentar su película con las condiciones que cada plataforma delimita.
6. PROCESO DE SELECCIÓN Y COMITÉ DE JURADOS
Una vez cierren las inscripciones todos los proyectos recibidos pasarán a un comité de selección compuesto por jurados con amplia experticia en cada una de las categorías planteadas. Este comité de jurados permanecerá anónimo hasta la fecha de premiación donde se desvelarán sus nombres y experiencia. Las decisiones de este comité son inapelables.

10th #NarrarelFuturo: Film & New Media Festival
(Bogota, September 5th to 10th, 2023)
INTRODUCTION
The programming of #NarrarElFuturo navigates every year in a programmatic narrative that aims to generate a constant dialogue between traditional cinematographic narratives and the most current trends that experiment from technology, digital, immersive and interactive.
In this new edition, faithful to the evident and inevitable changes brought by the pandemic, we will enhance the reengineering applied to our programming and curatorial concept during the 2022 version and maintain the strengthening and projection of the film programming as previously done with the new media programming.
With this in mind and with the concept of "THE FUTURE" as the structural basis of our curatorial narrative this year we maintain and enhance our two main sections: #RelatosDelFuturo and #ElFuturoEsAhora.
2. SECTIONS
Section #StoriesOfTheFuture
Section with a focus on film projects (Short and Feature Films), we are looking for films that speak and connect with the future in many ways; we want, of course, fantasy, futuristic and science fiction films, the most obvious ones, but we also want to see many other looks at the future from the most varied formats, genres, themes and narratives. The participating films must speak of the future, of the many possibilities that come in this new era, of all those possible universes that opened up with the quasi-end of the world that we have been living globally in the last few years.

Section #TheFutureIsNow":
Section focusing on new media projects and digital narratives. This section includes projects that use technologies, trends or formats around the concept of "New Media": Digital Documentaries, Webseries, Transmedia Narratives, Immersive Experiences (VR/AR/MR), Podcast, vertical cinema and collective projects (Crowdfunding/Crowdsourcing).

3. PARTICIPATION SCHEME
- Projects in both categories can be submitted through the two official platforms: Festhome and FilmFreeway. Material and content received via email or other platforms will not be taken into account in the jury's evaluation.
- Both sections receive content in real image, animation or hybrid format and are open to any genre and duration as long as they comply with the concept defined in the festival's curatorial concept.
- The copies to be requested for each work selected for the festival must have a minimum resolution of Full HD format for cinematographic works or traditional audiovisual content (2D) and a minimum of 4K for VR works, Video 360 or other immersive formats.
- The producers or owners of the exhibition rights of the registered and selected works accept and confirm their participation in the 10th version of #NarrarElFuturo and related festivals without payment of exhibition rights.
- Films and new media projects submitted to this edition must not have been premiered before January 1, 2021.
- All selected participants whose work is in a language other than Spanish must provide a copy of their project with Spanish subtitles or dubbing. The costs of such subtitling or dubbing are the responsibility of each creator.
- The producers of the selected works agree to sign the exhibition rights assignment forms and to provide the various press and communication materials such as posters, trailers, technical specifications, press kits, and stills of the project, among others.
- Participants from selected Ibero-American countries agree that the general information of their selected work and materials will be included in the Ibero-American database of film and new media projects managed by #NarrarElFuturo.
4. TIMELINE
- Opening of entries: April 26, 2023
- Closing date for the first stage: June 4, 2023
- Closing date for the second stage of registration: July 4, 2023
- Publication of the official selection: August 4, 2023
- Exhibition of selected projects: September 5 - 10, 2023
- Publication of Winners: September 10, 2023
5. FESTIVAL REGISTRATION FEES
5.1. Section #StoriesOfTheFuture (Feature Films and Short Films)
In the first stage the registration is free of charge. In the second stage the films will pay a fee of 5 USD, this fee will be paid on the platform chosen to present their film with the conditions that each platform delimits.
5.2. Section #ElFuturoEsAhora (New Media Projects)
In the first stage registration is free of charge. In the second stage new media projects regardless of their format will pay a fee of 5 USD, this fee will be paid on the platform chosen to present their film with the conditions that each platform delimits.
6. SELECTION PROCESS AND JURY COMMITTEE
Once registration closes, all projects received will be submitted to a selection committee composed of jurors with extensive experience in each of the categories proposed. This jury committee will remain anonymous until the award date when their names and experience will be revealed. The decisions of this committee are final.
