NEPENTHE

150 years ago, a war annihilated 98% of the world’s population. The remaining humans live in a dystopian world where Nepenthe, a drug that erases all emotions and guarantees obedience, is mandatory. A man living in the colony loses his wife because she is immune to the drug and its effects. This event allows him to experience true emotions for the first time in his life; however, he chooses to ignore them. Soon, he is pursued by a stranger born into a nomadic group that rejects the system, the colony, and Nepenthe. The stranger reveals that the principles the man believes in are not what they seem.
