My War and Me

“My War and Me” is a 10-episode documentary film by Roman Sadovskyi, created in 2024. The project covers the first three weeks of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a time when life was split into “before” and “after,” and the problems of strangers became personal. The film is built on video diaries that recreate the experiences of Ukrainians in different wartime conditions — under shelling, in occupation, in bomb shelters, and in forced emigration. The project is based on documentary and artistic texts, poetry, interviews, and chronicles. “My War and Me” not only recreates events but also explores how war changes a person, their thoughts, feelings, and connection with reality.
