Patricio Valladares (Chilean, born 17 July 1982) is a Chilean director, screenwriter, editor and producer. Known for his work in genre cinema Valladares has helmed a wide variety of thrilling features throughout his career. In 2011, he directed the “En las Afueras de la Ciudad” a.k.a Hidden In The Woods. The film, based on a true story, had its world premiere at Fantasia Film Festival before touring the globe. At the screening of the film at London’s Film 4 FrightFest, Paul McEvoy, the festival’s co-director called Hidden In The Woods a “Punk Rock blast of pure adrenaline from South America; uncompromising, unflinching, unstoppable –Valladares is a genre force to be reckoned with!

Epic Pictures Group is currently handling sales and distribution for the film.

Hidden In The Woods caught the attention of veteran genre actor Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens) who would go on to produce the English language remake. WTFilms is handling worldwide sales, while Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and eOne Entertainment released the film on DVD in Canada and the United States respectively in 2016.

In 2014 Patricio directed "Toro Loco: Bloodthirsty" a bombastic Chilean action comedy shot entirely in Spanish. The world premiere was held at Morbido Film Fest at Mexico shortly before Arsploitation Films came aboard as a sales agent and the film was released in 2015 under the FilmRise label in the in US.

In 2015 he shot three features in English, all of which are currently in the midst of distribution. The first was Downhill a Chilean experimental horror/thriller movie. WTFilms serves as worldwide sales agent and the film made its world premiere at Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival from Switzerland, before touring the globe. FrightFest co-founder and famous critic Alan Jones labeled the film “BMX BANDITS meets HP Lovecraft in a fast, fun and furious gorebuster." Downhill was released in 2016 by Solo Media in the UK. While Gravitas Ventures will be release the film in theaters and On Demand in the United States respectively in 2017.

Second was Kanlı Girdap (Vlad's Legacy), a part horror, part found footage film shot in location in Istanbul, Turkey. Mars Dağıtım was the Turkish distributor and the film opened on 183 screens in Turkey in 2016.

Lastly, he directed Nightworld in Bulgaria with Nightmare On Elm Street star and screen legend, Robert Englund. Nightworld was picked up US based company, VMI Worldwide, for International Sales. These three features were produced by Loris Curci and written by Barry Keating.

Right now Patricio is working on sci-fi body horror called Embryo, which he plans to shoot during the summer of 2020 in the Chile, as well as a number of other unannounced projects that will be revealed over the coming months.
