My Name is Minette - The High Meows episode

Tiger, an American kitten, arrives at a Pet Hotel (Château du Haut-Miaou) located in a castle on the French Riviera. He meets Minette and is confused about how to say her very French name. Minette teaches him to say it with a song. The other resident cats and mice join them for a fun sing and play.

Director Statement

The High Meows aims to familiarize young children with other languages and accents. Many of our kittens are French as it is set in France, but our Mice are British and Polish, Tiger is a US expatriate and we will introduce other characters from other origins as we go.

This is my personal project, it is dear to my heart because I am a French expatriate and I feel that today there is a lack of children programming that normalizes people speaking with an accent.
We aim to help every child that feels bullied because of their accent, and help accents become something charming that all kids enjoy, and motivate the little ones to learn other langages at the same time.
My Name is Minette is the first episode of the Tiger storyline that will deal with the language/cultural barrier between Americans and French, but also with the theme of abandonment as children struggle with separation anxiety .
