My (Best Friend's) Head Exploded
Lydia and Sam like to make haunted houses, imagine other worlds, and question everything, but they never thought one of their creations would be able to push itself into their comfortable, isolated existence. Now, Lydia must deal with authority, confusion, and generational violence to solve the mysteries of reality, and save her own.

Official Selection/2nd Place Feature Category
Originally from New Mexico, Scott Bryan now slings zines, makes films, and pens scary stories in Appalachia.
His previous film credits include the screenplay for the feature DRUNK, cinematography for Hamlet the Vampire Slayer, acting in Monster's Nut House, The Scare Game, and Pizza Girl Massacre. His directorial efforts, My Monster and Me (2021) and The Confrontation (2022), have shown in fright festivals all over the country and been nominated for Best Ohio Film (Nightmares FF 2021) and Best Visual Effects (NJ HorrorCon 2021). He also won Best Actor at FrankenCon 2022 and 2nd Place in the Foundry Theater Horror Shorts Competition.
His next project, a longer-form existential horror called My Best Friend's Head Exploded, was made using the same DIY techniques as his award-winning shorts and is forthcoming in 2023.
We made this in our basement. The art of making motion pictures does not have to be a long, tedious, costly, complicated endeavor. We can tell fun, interesting, inventive stories without spending a million dollars, and we can't wait to share this one with you.
We are all best friends.
