Music Street

Music Street Logline:

Hungry for the lost limelight of her twenties, a 40-something singer attempts a comeback - a journey that starts with waitressing for her ex and his new girlfriend at their roadhouse.

Synopsis

Music Street is about Sam Jenkins, a former country music star who’s had some success with her music career about 15 years ago. She had to put her career on hold to take care of her sick dad, who recently passed away. It left her broke and with a stalled career.

She has to eat crow and ask her spineless ex who owns a music club for a waitress job. He hires her but neglects to tell his current GF who manages the club. The GF makes Sam’s first night a living hell.

Sam survives the first night with the help of friendly staff and is torn about restarting her career. She sees the performers and it reignites her old spark. She’s at a decision point at the end of the pilot to move on with life or restart her career.

Continuing would entail working at the bar for the money and opportunities it provides in the industry. The audience will see Sam’s talent and Sam will make the decision that she wants to give it one more try and will have to stick out her job at Music Street.

The series will show Sam’s journey on the road back including dealing with ageism, sexism and the pitfalls of the music industry. Will it be worth it?
