I'm so grateful for the acknowledgement and awards given to us by our supportive film freeway community here! THANK YOU!!!

No Fugu for Yugu can be shown as 3 short episodes 7 minutes each or as a full short at 22 minutes.

I am the "show runner" and usually assign a director, but I chose to direct NO FUGU FOR YUGU. I learned how to edit and fell in love with both directing and editing on this project. (I discovered it's a bit challenging to act two roles simultaneously and direct, so for some scenes, Salme Geransar and Elizabeth Arends pitch in on directing).

I hope the viewer gets as much fun out of watching NO FUGU FOR YUGU as we had making it! I think ridiculous things are funny. This is an offbeat, dead pan, witty, whodunnit + 100% homemade!

Multi-tasking is fun but can be demanding when I’m acting two roles, working the dummy’s (sorry Mrs. J) eyes and mouth, costuming, doing Baroness’s hair, props, set design, and making lunch/Crafty! Dickie (Rich) Sanderson also has a leading role, is the DP, doing sound, lighting, all after sitting in the makeup chair for an hour. My husband does the make-up, our house becomes the set, and we shoot the whole shebang in a four day weekend. IT IS A RIOT!

Working with Rich, Salme, Liz, and Jen, is a wonderful experience because we’re all close friends. It’s really like being part of a theatre company, which is only right because we come from strong stage backgrounds.

We had delays in releasing NO FUGU FOR YUGU due to Covid. We shot in 2019... BEFORE #BLM and BEFORE #MeToo. We released the project February 9, 2022 on Fugu Day in Japan!

We had a $0 budget and probably spent $500 to make MRS. CARMODY & MRS. JELLINECK: NO FUGU FOR YUGU. Luckily Rich had all the equipment we needed!
