Mr Lonely
A documentary crew presents an exclusive glimpse into the day-to-day life of a real-life speedster.
Existing nine thousand percent faster than an average human, Chris is invisible to the world—and in turn, the world is frozen to her.
Chris’s story is seen through the eyes of Bren Ó Briain, her music tutor, whom she speaks to via recorded messages.
Though puzzled by his student, the affable Bren aims to help Chris towards the one thing her powers can’t: mastering a new skill.

Finalist: Best Director
Daniel Noonan is a filmmaker and Creative Digital Media graduate with first-class honours, based in Cork.
His student films 𝘞𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘪𝘥/𝘞𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘪𝘥 and 𝘔𝘳 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 have earned him a Best Director nomination by Cinema Indie People and an official selection by Bournemouth International Film Festival, as well as MTU's Student Award.
Daniel works closely with the Cork International Film Festival, both in viewing submissions and assisting the programming team. He also has extensive experience in Production Assistant roles, on TV series for national broadcasters RTÉ and TG4.
In 2025 Daniel worked as a driver and location consultant with multi-award-winning director/producer Josh Mond (𝘑𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦, 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦), on an upcoming feature film set in County Tipperary.
I’ve always been interested in ways of basing the fantastical, far-flung element of the superhero in reality. 𝘔𝘳 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺, though, was an idea that came to me and refused to leave. Starting out as a treatment submitted in First Year of college, it remained in my back pocket for two years as I repeatedly told myself, “I should make that someday.”
With the degree drawing to a close, I decided if I didn’t make it now, I never would—and that I owed it to myself to see it realised.
