Director Biography - Armin Mohammadi


Armin Mohammadi, born in 2000, comes from a Kurdish-speaking family in the city of Salmas. He is a graduate of Iranian Youth Cinema Society and director of the short film "Mourning" produced in 2024 in Salmas, Iran.

Director Statement

"Mourning" is an idependent Kurdish/Iranian short film that was funded, produced and written by the director Armin Mohammadi, with a small budget. Shin or Şîn means mourning in Kurdish, and this film depicts the effects of mourning on a Kurdish family along with some traditions.
